I had the opportunity to catch this when it had its Maryland Film Festival premiere, and really enjoyed it. Like both of Matt’s other films, he utilizes the frame and the long take exceptionally well. I’ll definitely be going to see it again tonight, I recommend everyone in the Baltimore area check it out! Matt’s a great guy (yeah that’s right, we’re chill. Okay fine, he just gives me grades).
Baltimore filmmaker and MFF alum Matt Porterfield‘s I USED TO BE DARKER, a big hit at MFF 2013, will launch its national theatrical run in Baltimore at the Charles Theater this weekend. Strand Releasing agreed to give Baltimore first dibs on the film; it opens in New York on 10/4 and Los Angeles on 10/11, followed by a national release.
